6 Simple Tricks to Always Look Great in Photos

We are living in a digital era where everyone is hooked to their phones, and we cannot go through one day without having to browse the web. A big part of our internet activities is social networks. Today, everyone has Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc. We visit our social media profiles regularly and try to be as active as possible. One of the biggest activities is posting selfies and photos with our friends, partners, family, etc. Some social networks, as you probably already know, are all about pictures, such as Instagram or Snapchat. We need to look great in photos that appear there.

If you are having problems with looking good in photos, I feel you. I also had a tough time and people used to make fun of me, but fear no more. Today, we will talk about easy steps to always look amazing in your photos.

1.      Don’t force yourself to smile

For me, one of the biggest problems was that I tried to smile hard and I ended up looking look great in photosunnatural. An insincere smile is one of the biggest buzz kills, and not everyone can pull off smiling on purpose and looking good with it.

If you are simply not that person, then you shouldn’t try to push yourself; there is a better way of looking good. Instead of going for a big, open smile, make a small and restrained smile that will make you look like a calm, sweet person, without even exposing your wrinkles and looking younger than you are.

2.     Find your angle

One of the important things for looking good in your photos is to know which angle you need to take when you are being photographed or taking a selfie. Did you know that we all have asymmetrical faces? It’s important to recognize your side, the one that looks better.

Choose the side of your face which you like the most and see from the angles, you look the best. After you’ve done that, make sure that you take selfies this way or learn how to position yourself the right way so that the angle is right when someone else is taking a photo of you.

3.     Look for amazing lighting

look great in photosThe absolute mantra for taking good photos is to find a good location where you can catch amazing lighting. Taking flash photos during the day is a bad thing; even expert photo photographers avoid doing this because they know how tricky it is.

They also know that natural lighting is one of the things that can either make a photo beautiful or dull and boring. When there is no flash, you should make sure to face the light source directly, and not from any side

When the light source hits your face directly, it will clean it up, make you look younger, and remove any wrinkles or spots you might have. You can also apply this rule for street lights, lamps, or similar lighting sources, to get the same effect.

4.     Make a natural light filter

As opposed to the previous trick, you can also use the source of light to create amazing natural filters that require you to stand with your back turned towards the sun or another source of light. Instagram filters are cool, but there is nothing better when you make an “artificial” filter by yourself where everything looks so natural.

Make great use of the light rays and let them cover you from the back. When you stare into the distance with the sun flaring you from the back and reaching the shot just a tiny bit, you will be able to come up with cool vintage pictures. However, find a balance and make sure that the rays don’t get exposed too much.

5.     Lie down to look good

One of the best photo compositions that you can take is to lie down with the camera above you. This is a really cool way to take a photo, and it completely gives a fresh perspective onlook great in photoes how you look in your photos.

No matter whether you are doing this on your bed at home, or in nature on the grass during a sunny day, it’s important that the light source is also above you. Still, make sure that you keep an eye for shadows, as they might ruin your whole photo. It might take some practice to get the hang of doing this, but once you do, you will be able to come up with amazing photos.

6.     Take a “slimming stance”

The way you stand or the position you take can easily either add or remove around 10 pounds in your photos. Luckily, we know how you can take a stance that will guarantee that you will look 10 pounds lighter in your pictures.

You need your hips and shoulders to be wide apart, as much as possible, while at the same time putting most of your weight on your back foot. Make sure that you bend your front leg as much as you can while still holding it on the ground.

This will create a slimming effect in your photos. Additionally, you can give your photo to professional photo editors and get even better results.

So, there you have it. With these six tips, you will be able to get the look you want in your photos. If you remember all of these things straight away, you will instantly notice the difference in your photos.
